2008 1099 Instructions
Warning: This process is not yet intended for the creation of Electronic media for the IRS.
This process is for creating Printed 1099’s only, using the 2008 1099 LMISC (Laser Printer Miscellaneous) forms.
There may be two sets of forms this year, a 2-line form or 3-line form.
Please download, unzip and save the correct report using the above links into your WinOPS\SRW directory on the network/local. Make sure everyone is out of WinOps and you have a good backup prior to beginning this process.
1) Go to Utilities, and click Create 1099's.
2) Agree to the Disclaimer.
3) Click on the build options tab, select the winops database location in the top window (in version 6x the path goes to the Winops.add), change the date range in the Extract Commission data from line to 01/01/2008 & 12/31/2008, and click Save.
4) Select any of the other Options if applicable (contact Techmate with any questions), and make sure that at least .01 is showing in minimum amount to include field.
5) Then Click Create 1099's.
6) When that process is done, please make a backup of your data and save that for auditing purposes.
7) Go to Reports, Custom Reports, Shazam, click on the Open file button and choose the report file you downloaded.
8) Please be sure that you fill out your Company’s information on the layout tab before previewing the report.
Then click on the Preview tab of the report. You will then see the results, in the 1099 LMISC format. (If necessary you can compare these 1099 results with a Sales and Earning report for the same YTD, including Adjustments but not Deductions). Then put your 1099 LMISC forms in the printer and print the results of the SRW report to the 1099 laser MISC forms.
